TCL or TCL Corporation is a partially state-owned Chinese multinational electronics company. The brand is known for manufacturing smartphones, TVs, air conditioner, refrigerations, washing machienes and so on. In 2004, TCL started a joint venture with another Chinese brand Alcatel to manufacture smartphones. It was called Alcatel Mobile Phones. However, in 2007, TCL announced that they want to become an independent mobile phone manufacturing brand within the next 5 years. Now, the TCL is manufacturing phones under their own brand name. They also started a partnership with BlackBerry Mobile in 2016 and started to produce smartphones under the BlackBerry brand. This contract will also end on August 2020.
TCL in Bangladesh
As of Q1 2020, some older model TCL smartphones are officially available in some online stores. TCL LED and LCD TVs are also available in Bangladesh. However, their physical presence is very limited and we currently don’t have any information if the newer smartphone models will be officially available or not.
