Tecno Spark 10 Pro Review

Tecno Spark 10 Pro Review
Tecno Spark 10 Pro, is one of the finest lower-budget smartphone releases of 2013 in the Bangladeshi market. Today we are reviewing its 4/128 GB model which is priced at ৳13,990. There is also a 8/128 GB model priced at ৳15,990 which will give you a bit smoother performance because of the higher RAM size. But for that, you have to pay a significant amount of money and there are other good options at that price so we picked the 4 GB RAM model.

Design

The design of Tecno Spark 10 Pro overall looks pretty nice. There are dual cameras on the back with flash but the flash setup also looks like a camera setup. Some of you probably would want to have a more minimalist setup but it doesn’t look that bad. The back panel is made of AG frosted matt glass which is a premium material and appreciated very much especially considering the cost of the gadget. Even at a much higher cost, most phones come with plastic bodies. However, there is no display protection such as Gorilla Glass or any kind of dust and splash protection.

Display

The display is a huge 6.8-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD one. Many phones at this price are still offering an HD+ display so the Full HD resolution is a fine positive of the phone. It’s one of those larger phones that fits in the hand but feels a bit large. On the other hand, video or general content-watching experience would be nicer because of the larger screen. We also have a 90Hz refresh rate.

We couldn’t find any info about peak brightness but from the hands-on reviews that we watched, the under-sunlight view looked pretty decent and there is no low brightness issue while using the camera as well. Tecno Spark 10 Pro is Widevine L1 supported. Widevine L1-certified phones can play videos at the best possible resolution possible.

Camera

There is a 50MP main back camera and yes it is one of those better 50MP cameras. We saw very natural and punchy colors and good dynamic range. Low light or nighttime shots are good compared to most phones at this price. There is also night mode which gives better lighting. There is up to 2K video recording option. Video stabilization is not included.

The 32 MP front camera processes natural-looking shots. We didn’t see the presence of soft tones at all. The colors are slightly boosted. The background blur looked fine. Overall, also very satisfactory.

Battery and Performance

The device comes with a 5000 mAh battery and 18W charger. The charging time from 0-100% is about 1 hour and 48 minutes. Some phones will offer you a 33W charger at this price, but some are still coming with a 10W charger and we think 1 hour and 48 minutes is a decent charging time for phones with this price.

Yes, we have Android 13 which was much needed. There is a MediaTek Helio G88 chipset, the best you can get for what you are paying. Very impressive, stable chipset for the long run. However, the RAM is just 4 GB so, you won’t have that butter-smooth performance all the time. At least 6 GB RAM would have been great. You may see slight lags if you try to play games in high graphics. It’s minor, but we still miss an additional 2 GB RAM which would have been great with the Helio G88 chipset.

Storage, Connectivity and Others

There is 128 GB of eMMC 5.1 storage. There is also a dedicated MicroSD slot. There are all the necessary connectivity features such as Dual SIM, FM Radio, USB Type-C, NFC and so on. The audio quality is decent but nothing too prominent. The fingerprint sensor is side-mounted. There is E-Compass but a Gyroscope sensor is missing.
