Oppo A58 4G Review

Oppo A58 4G Review
Oppo A58 4G model which is available in one single 8/128 GB model and in two different colors Glowing Black and Dazzling Green priced at ৳23,990 in Bangladesh. We say “4G” because there is also a 5G model of this phone and we want visitors to know it upfront. So, let’s dive into it’s features.

Design and Build

If design is the most important thing for you or let’s say one of the most important, it will be hard to just skip this phone. it’s gorgeous, almost exquisite. We are particularly talking about the backside. Yes, it’s just plain plastic (polycarbonate) and we wonder how Oppo managed to make it so attractive. But you can see class and elegance are oozing from it and we are not exaggerating. On the front, there is a punch-hole display and overall it looks pretty.

There is no display protection but the body is IPX4 certified waterproof which is another premium feature. It’s quite professional on the outside we must say and gets a good mark despite having a plastic body with no screen keeper such as Gorilla Glass.

Display

Okay, we have a 6.72-inch big Full HD+ display and we saw a few hands-on reviews and the display color looked nice and the reviewers all agreed. We are not getting an AMOLED display but the IPS LCD panel is doing a great job. There is just a 60Hz refresh rate and no 90Hz support which is a strong drawback. The display has up to 680 nits brightness which works pretty well under sunlight conditions.

Camera

The 50+2 MP back camera and the 8 MP front camera look average on the specs sheet. The back camera quality might still impress you, but it’s nothing that great for the price. There is also no ultrawide lens, no 4K recording, and no video stabilization. The front camera is just plain average and we can’t recommend it at all for this cost.

Battery and Performance

Oppo SUPERVOOC chargers are admired in the industry and you’ll get a 33W SUPERVOOC charger with a 5000 mAh battery which is a fair combination.

Now comes the big flaw, a Helio G85 chipset. Yes, we are thinking the same. Some phones are already giving Helio G99 chipset under 20K price so, why on earth you’ll pay 24K for a Helio G85 chipset? And yes, you shouldn’t. This phone is not made for mid-range gaming enthusiasts. This is kind of like a package, more focused on the outside. However, there is 8 GB RAM plus 8 GB Extended RAM option so, you’ll get a smooth enough performance. But definitely very overpriced for the kind of performance specs. There is Android 13 with ColorOS version 13.1.

Storage, Connectivity and Others

The internal storage or ROM is 128 GB eMMC 5.1. This is a typical low-budget slow ROM and You could expect a UFS 2.2 ROM. There is a MicroSD slot. As far as connectivity features are concerned, there is a dual SIM feature, USB Type-C, NFC and so on. The sound quality is pleasing with its stereo speakers. The fingerprint sensor is mounted on the right side.
